Software Engineer II - Backend - Maps

This role is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement Spark and related pipelines for ingestion of large scale map data
2. Optimize Big Data pipelines for efficiency and reliability
3. Extend and optimize large-scale services using NoSQL technologies
4. Develop and maintain high QPS services that serve map data
5. Influence the base map architecture and align with team members and stakeholders
6. Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements across the Maps Platform

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience building highly scalable backend services
• Experience with Java (or other JVM based language)
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data pipelines - Airflow, Spark, HDFS, Hive
• Background in geospatial problem solving
