Senior Backend Engineer, Subscriptions

This role is based in London or Stockholm with flexibility to work from home.
What you'll do:
- Design and architect backend systems that power new user-facing features across the subscriptions journey.
- Build, deploy, and maintain scalable services with a focus on high availability and low latency.
- Collaborate closely with mobile engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Take ownership of services in production, including monitoring and reliability.
- Support and mentor engineers on the team.
Who you are:
- Experience building backend systems using Java and modern backend technologies.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and experience with complex, distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Experience designing and developing APIs.
- Curious and adaptable, motivated by solving meaningful problems.
