This role is based in Toronto, with flexibility to work from home and in-person meetings.

Compensation:

$103,321 – $147,602 CAD/year plus equity

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to Spotify’s monorepo migration by building and evolving core tooling and infrastructure
  • Solve complex integration challenges across CI/CD systems and developer workflows
  • Maintain and enhance internal platforms like Fleetshift and Production Policy Enforcer
  • Design and implement reliable backend systems, primarily in Java
  • Own end-to-end solutions from design through delivery
  • Lead smaller technical initiatives within the squad
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure the monorepo strategy meets engineering needs
  • Automate workflows to reduce developer toil

Who you are:

  • Experience building backend systems in Java
  • Comfortable with complex distributed architectures
  • Ability to drive technical problems from design to implementation
  • Focus on developer experience and automation
  • Experience with cloud-native environments like Google Cloud Platform or Kubernetes
  • Collaborative approach prioritizing team success
  • Curious and resilient in problem-solving
