Staff / Senior Staff Backend Software Engineer, Workspace Agents

This role is based in San Francisco.

Compensation:

$230K – $385K + Offers Equity

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate backend systems that power Workspace Agents in ChatGPT.
• Develop core infrastructure for reliable and configurable agents.
• Work across technical challenges including agent orchestration and backend APIs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to enhance product capabilities.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficient in backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust).
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and service architecture.
• Experience with scalable product systems for enterprise customers.
