This role is remote in the US with additional locations including Menlo Park, CA, New York, NY, and San Francisco, CA.

Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers and technical leads on threat models and security architecture.
  • Conduct security reviews of web, mobile, and native code.
  • Guide developers to prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Enhance Instagram's security frameworks and analysis tools.
  • Support the bug bounty program and engage with security researchers.
  • Contribute to the security community through talks and open-source projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in vulnerability detection in languages like Python and PHP.
  • Proven experience in threat modeling and secure systems design.
  • Experience with common security vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in product software engineering or management.
  • Background in security consulting or advisory roles.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity investigations and incident response.
  • Active contributions to the security community.
