This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Compensation:

$207,000-$300,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural design and execution of projects for the Managed MySQL service, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define requirements and translate customer needs into actionable engineering milestones.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish standards for technical excellence.
  • Oversee complex backend systems to minimize operational overhead for customers.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience building large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
  • Experience with MySQL and relational database management systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related technical field.
  • Experience with database internals and performance-intensive systems.
  • Experience building managed services and working with cloud platforms.
