This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Compensation:

$147,000-$211,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and components within the Autocap capacity management ecosystem.
  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of scalable and reliable infrastructure for demand forecasting, resource modeling, supply management, and footprint optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members and partner teams to integrate Autocap with other production systems and enhance end-to-end automation.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency by refactoring code, optimizing algorithms, and addressing technical debt.
  • Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and help shape the future of automated capacity management at Google.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in general software development.
  • 2 years of experience with back-end software development.
  • 1 year of experience with distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in infrastructure development.
  • Experience with large-scale production environments and technologies.
  • Experience with data analysis, time-series data, or optimization algorithms.
  • Familiarity with capacity management concepts, resource forecasting, or service placement challenges.
