This role is based in San Jose, CA or Waterloo, ON.
Compensation:
$174,000-$252,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain low-level system software for Augmented Reality (AR) platforms.
- Contribute to subsystems including bootloader, kernel, device drivers, and Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
- Develop software for SoC (Android/Linux) and MCU (RTOS) platforms.
- Optimize power consumption and system stability.
- Collaborate with Electrical Development team on hardware bring-up and software test plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of software development experience in C/C++.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 3 years of embedded development experience.
- Experience with Linux device drivers and Android.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
