Senior Software Developer, Embedded Systems/Firmware, XR

This role is based in San Jose, CA or Waterloo, ON.

Compensation:

$166,000-$244,000/year (US) or CAD 174,000-178,000/year (Canada) plus bonus and equity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain low-level system software for Augmented Reality (AR) platforms.
• Contribute to subsystems including bootloader, kernel, device drivers, and Android HAL.
• Develop software for SoC (Android/Linux) and MCU (RTOS) platforms.
• Optimize power consumption and system stability.
• Collaborate with Electrical Development team on hardware bring-up and software testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in C/C++.
• 3 years of experience with embedded development and MCU RTOS systems.
• Experience with Linux device drivers and Android.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
