Security Engineer, Uppercase Research

This role is based in Austin, TX.

Compensation:

$118,000-$170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

About the job:

As a Security Engineer, you will work with network equipment and monitor systems for attacks. Collaborate with software engineers to identify and fix security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical threat actor behavior analysis and research emerging threats.
• Collaborate with teams to implement new detection capabilities.
• Write and optimize YARA-L rules for tracking malicious behavior.
• Maintain and scale detection engineering processes.
• Innovate detection strategies using AI technologies.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of coding experience in a general-purpose language.
• 1 year of experience in security assessments or design reviews.
• Experience with security engineering and protocols.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in security research or detection engineering.
• Proficiency with security analysis tools like SIEM.
