Network Engineer, Edge Network Operations

This role is based in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Create workflow and network monitoring/troubleshooting automation to improve the customer experience.
- Drive process improvements and automate turn-up and service delivery.
- Provide high-touch operational support for GCP customers and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peers.
- Help customers resolve network service issues and assist with connectivity and performance troubleshooting issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for escalated issues.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience in networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, VLANs, peering, load balancing, etc.).
- Experience with computer architecture, new hardware design, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with one scripting language.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role at an ISP, carrier, content network, or CDN.
- Experience coding with Python.
- Knowledge of IP network infrastructures and protocols.
- Knowledge of SDN, including the understanding of the differences between control plane, data plane, and management plane.
- Understanding cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, and managing infrastructure.
