Staff Backend Software Engineer (User Platform)

This role is based in Sydney, Australia with a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine the Apps SDK for seamless integration into Canva’s ecosystem.
• Architect new full-stack capabilities and shape API designs.
• Mentor engineers and drive large-scale projects from ideation to execution.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance user experience for Enterprise and Education customers.

Requirements:

• Experience in high-performance Java backend systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication.
• Familiarity with SQL and software design principles.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Authentication and Permission systems.
• DynamoDB experience.
