Senior Engineering Manager - Security Platform Engineering (Open to remote across ANZ)

This role is based in Canberra, ACT, Australia, with remote work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Manage two teams of software engineers focused on reducing security risks.
• Own the strategy and roadmap for both teams, balancing security and developer experience.
• Coach and develop engineers, providing feedback for personal growth.
• Oversee development methodologies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Drive adoption of security systems across Canva engineering teams.

Required Experience:

• Experience managing high-performing teams.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience partnering with software engineering and compliance teams.
• Proficiency in languages such as Golang, Java, or Rust.
• Experience in building and operating cloud-based services.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in security domains like application sandboxing and vulnerability scanning.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools like Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
