What you’ll be doing:

Lead a multidisciplinary team of backend and machine learning engineers to build Canva’s context and personalisation systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the strategy for Canva’s centralised context platform.
  • Develop capabilities like AI Memory and brand-aware AI generation.
  • Design scalable APIs for internal teams.
  • Drive adoption of personalisation capabilities across Canva’s ecosystem.
  • Grow and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Experience in engineering leadership, platform systems, or shared services.
  • Strong technical depth with product thinking.
  • Experience in AI, machine learning, or data-driven platforms.
  • Comfortable in high-ambiguity environments.
  • Passionate about developing engineers and building high-performing teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with context systems or recommendation engines.
  • Experience in high-growth product environments.
