Senior Engineering Manager (BE/ML) - Context & Personalisation

This role is based in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

What you'll do:

Lead a multidisciplinary team of backend and machine learning engineers to build Canva’s context and personalisation systems.

Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver the strategy for Canva’s centralised context platform.
• Develop capabilities such as AI Memory and brand-aware AI generation.
• Design scalable APIs for internal teams to build AI-powered experiences.
• Drive adoption of context and personalisation capabilities across Canva.
• Grow and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements:

• Experience in engineering leadership and building platform systems.
• Strong technical depth with product thinking.
• Experience in AI, machine learning, or data-driven platforms.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience with context systems or recommendation engines.
• Experience in high-growth product environments.
