Senior Engineering Manager (BE/ML) - Context & Personalisation

This role is based in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

What you'll do:

Lead a multidisciplinary team of backend and machine learning engineers to build Canva’s context and personalisation systems.

Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver the strategy for Canva’s centralised context platform.
• Develop capabilities like AI Memory and brand-aware AI generation.
• Design scalable APIs for internal teams.
• Collaborate with Product and Design leaders to enhance AI experiences.
• Grow and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements:

• Experience in engineering leadership and platform systems.
• Strong technical depth with product thinking.
• Experience in AI, machine learning, or data-driven platforms.
• Ability to operate in fast-moving environments.
• Passion for developing engineers and building high-performing teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with context systems or personalisation pipelines.
• Experience in high-growth product environments.
