Engineering Manager (BE) - Metrics Platform (Remote ANZ)

What you'll do:

• Lead the technical delivery of the new Metrics Platform from foundation to scale.

• Build tools and infrastructure that enable teams to standardise, explore, and act on key business metrics.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and TPMs to deliver features like segmentation, annotations, alerting, and root cause analysis.

• Lay the groundwork for AI-driven analytics across Canva’s product organisation.

• Grow and nurture a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering team.

• Drive usage, feedback loops, and adoption through fast iteration cycles.

You're probably a match if:

• You’ve led platform teams before—especially in the data or metrics space.
• You bring deep backend expertise and are comfortable working across data infrastructure, semantic models, and internal tools.
• You’ve delivered technically complex products that are intuitive to use.
