This role is based in Melbourne, Australia with remote work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical delivery of the new Metrics Platform from foundation to scale.

• Build tools and infrastructure for standardizing and acting on key business metrics.

• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and TPMs on features like segmentation and alerting.

• Lay groundwork for AI-driven analytics across Canva’s product organization.

• Grow and nurture a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading platform teams, especially in data or metrics.
  • Deep backend expertise across data infrastructure and internal tools.
  • Experience delivering technically complex products.
  • Mentoring skills and a focus on building an empathetic engineering culture.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of providing clarity on technical challenges.

The Metrics Platform team is part of Product Insights Enablement (PIE), focused on smarter product development and centralized metrics management.
