Backend Engineer, User Platform - Java (Remote across ANZ)

This role is remote across ANZ, with a focus on building and scaling Canva's User Management system.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a backend-focused engineering team to extend and scale the User Product.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance systems for user authentication and management.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong background in designing, building, and operating large-scale Java backend systems.
• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, data structures, and architecture.
• Problem-solving mindset for complex challenges.

Nice to have:

• Experience with authentication and authorisation systems.
• Familiarity with SQL and DynamoDB.
