Internship, Prototype Integration Engineer, Vehicle Software (Winter/Spring 2026)

This internship is based in Palo Alto, California and is expected to start around January 2026, continuing through the Winter/Spring term.

Compensation:

$40.00 - $56.00/hour + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Own the introduction and automation of new car computer hardware.
  • Meet bring-up deadlines for new products.
  • Update existing automation software systems.
  • Learn the Tesla car computer Linux operating system.
  • Create new software systems for Tesla teams.
  • Support development and validation of critical software systems.
  • Oversee the Tesla car computer prototype lab.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with bash/shell and Linux.
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, Golang, C/C++, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of git.
  • Electrical debugging skills.
  • Computer networking experience.
