Staff Engineer, Core Infrastructure

This role is based in Sydney, Australia.

Compensation:

A$207,200 - A$310,800 per year

What you'll do:

Design, plan, build, and maintain storage, databases, compute, and networking infrastructure. Lead technical discussions and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain infrastructure used by Stripe service teams
• Lead technical conversations with other teams
• Mentor and grow technical leaders
• Participate in roadmap planning
• Debug production issues
• Work on scaling and reliability of services

Who you are:

Strong background in global cloud infrastructure with 12+ years of experience in software development.

Minimum requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with distributed infrastructure services
• Experience with major cloud providers

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Go, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Experience with databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL
