Staff Product Manager, Youth

Reddit is looking for an experienced Product Manager to help build a safe experience for the next generation of experiences for younger users while preserving a high-quality consumer experience. You will own ambiguous, zero-to-one product problems at the intersection of consumer product, safety, identity/age assurance, and global regulation. You will work closely with legal and cross-functional partners to determine what is truly required, frame clear options and tradeoffs, and ship scalable experiences that can adapt as laws and expectations evolve across markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategy, roadmap, requirements, launch, and measurable outcomes for Youth product initiatives.
  • Build and evolve age-assurance and third-party age-verification flows, including recovery/appeal experiences for users who are incorrectly classified.
  • Develop youth-specific product protections and controls, including age-gated content experiences, parental-control flows, and appropriate restrictions on product mechanics such as notifications, personalization, or chat where required.
  • Translate changing global regulations into objective product frameworks: clarify must-haves, deadlines, consequences, country exceptions, and viable product options with Legal and Policy.
  • Make principled tradeoffs between compliance, user experience, product value, technical complexity, and speed; escalate with clear evidence rather than treating legal interpretation as binary.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data/ML, Design, Research, Safety, Policy, Legal, and adjacent Product teams to ship durable solutions at Reddit scale.
  • Define success metrics and launch guardrails, monitor false positives/negatives and user friction where relevant, and iterate based on data and qualitative feedback.
  • Communicate strategy, risk, decisions, and progress clearly to senior stakeholders, including Product leadership.

Must-have qualifications

  • Significant product management experience building and launching consumer products at large scale.
  • Demonstrated zero-to-one ownership: framing ambiguous problems, setting strategy, writing requirements, shipping, learning, and iterating.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to negotiate high-stakes tradeoffs with Legal, Engineering, Data, Safety/Policy, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and first-principles problem solving; can distinguish legal requirements from interpretations and convert ambiguity into decision frameworks.
  • Experience launching products across multiple markets or navigating meaningful market-specific requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including concise articulation of options, risk, rationale, and recommendations.

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Direct Trust & Safety, youth safety, child/teen product, age assurance/verification, verified-account, or parental-control experience.
  • Experience with youth-focused or high-safety consumer products at high scaled environments.
  • Experience with content access controls, safety systems, notifications/personalization, messaging/chat protections, or other regulated consumer features.
  • Familiarity with ML/model-based classification and the product implications of false positives, false negatives, appeals, and verification fallbacks.

Hey, I'm Stan

Software Developer & Creator of Top Jobs Today

I'm a software developer, and over time I realized I cared mostly about roles at big tech companies - not just whatever happened to show up on LinkedIn or generic job boards. But those sources weren't enough - some roles were delayed, or never posted at all.

So I built this website to solve that. It scrapes fresh job postings directly from official company sites, figures out what kind of roles they really are, and sends them as email alerts - simple, fast, and focused.

Hope it makes your search easier too. Wishing you the best of luck - and I'm really glad you're here!
