About Pinterest:

Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.

Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.

We’re looking for inquisitive, collaborative interns to join our engineering teams. Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and backend engineers, you’ll learn how large-scale systems operate and use modern AI-assisted tools to help build new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.

What you’ll do:

  • Demonstrate accountability and quality in your work while receiving support and guidance from your mentor, manager, and peers
  • Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build the future of Pinterest
  • Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
  • Leverage AI tools in your daily engineering workflow to accelerate delivery—brainstorming approaches, writing and refining code, and producing clear documentation
  • Communicate ideas and perspectives with candor as you grow professionally through learning and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with your team and contribute to real projects that impact Pinterest
  • Engage with leaders and employees across Pinterest and participate in a variety of optional company events

What we’re looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree or education program working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • On track to graduate by June 2029
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
  • Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team.
  • Non-academic coding experience (e.g., hackathons, code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, open source, volunteer coding experience, conference participation, etc.)
  • Passion for Pinterest, comfort with ambiguity, and a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn

We offer 2 internship start dates:

  • May 17, 2027 - August 6, 2027
  • June 14, 2027 - September 3, 2027

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • For this role, some interns will work in a hybrid model (commutable distance to one of our offices, with in-person collaboration approximately 1–2 times per week), and some will work fully remote within approved locations. Specific location and work style (hybrid or remote) will be confirmed during the interview and offer process.
  • Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.

At Pinterest we believe the workplace should be equitable, inclusive, and inspiring for every employee. In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.

Hey, I'm Stan

Software Developer & Creator of Top Jobs Today

I'm a software developer, and over time I realized I cared mostly about roles at big tech companies - not just whatever happened to show up on LinkedIn or generic job boards. But those sources weren't enough - some roles were delayed, or never posted at all.

So I built this website to solve that. It scrapes fresh job postings directly from official company sites, figures out what kind of roles they really are, and sends them as email alerts - simple, fast, and focused.

Hope it makes your search easier too. Wishing you the best of luck - and I'm really glad you're here!
