This role is based in San Francisco, CA and requires in-person work 4 days a week.

Compensation:

$405K – $490K + Offers Equity

Responsibilities:

  • Build and own data infrastructure and evaluation pipelines to support research and real-world validation.
  • Ensure smooth integration of software with embedded/real-world systems and test infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with researchers to prioritize needs and deliver the data and tooling that accelerate progress.
  • Drive execution and delivery of reliable software for physical platforms used in research.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for a growing software engineering team.
  • Scale the team thoughtfully over the next 12–18 months (recruiting, onboarding, career growth).
  • Represent the team’s work across relevant leadership stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience with data infrastructure and evaluation pipelines.
  • Hands-on exposure to embedded systems and real-world platforms.
  • Experience shipping high-reliability software in iterative research or production settings.
  • Proven success leading and scaling software engineering teams in robotics, autonomy, or hardware-integrated environments.
  • Strong people leadership skills: mentoring, performance management, and organizational building.
