Staff / Senior Staff Product Engineer, Full Stack

Compensation:

$230K – $385K + Offers Equity

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for new product capabilities across frontend, backend, data, and integration layers.
  • Partner closely with product, design, research, infrastructure, safety, and customer-facing teams to understand user needs and ship effective solutions.
  • Build polished product experiences backed by scalable services, thoughtful data models, and reliable production operations.
  • Translate emerging model capabilities into practical product workflows for developers, teams, and organizations.
  • Balance speed, product quality, safety, and long-term maintainability as OpenAI's product surface evolves.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and modern web technologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
  • Strong product judgment and a track record of shipping user-facing products.
