Fullstack Engineer, Safety Engineering

This role is based in San Francisco.

Compensation:

$210K – $325K

Responsibilities:

• Develop internal tools to improve the safety of OpenAI’s models, focusing on mental health and vulnerable-user protections.
• Collaborate with Safety Systems researchers and engineers to understand workflows and translate them into product solutions.
• Build full-stack experiences for core model policy workflows, optimizing applications for usability and speed.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficient in JavaScript, React, and at least one backend language (Python preferred).
• Experience with relational databases like Postgres/MySQL.
• Interest in AI/ML is a plus.
