Security Data Engineer

This role is based in US, CA, Remote and US, NY, Remote.

Compensation:

Base salary range is 136,000 USD - 224,250 USD for Level 3, and 168,000 USD - 270,250 USD for Level 4.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and operate telemetry ingestion pipelines from various security sources.
  • Normalize and enrich telemetry into structured datasets.
  • Build and maintain data models connecting users, devices, and activities.
  • Provide access to security datasets through APIs and query interfaces.
  • Define lifecycle and retention strategies for data storage.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and security teams.
  • Document data sources, schemas, and entity definitions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with large scale data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of security telemetry.
  • Experience with data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with data normalization frameworks.
  • Ability to document complex data systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience with security platforms like CrowdStrike, Splunk.
  • Familiarity with SIEM data models and detection engineering workflows.
  • Experience with graph databases or entity relationship modeling.
