Compensation:

$40/hour - $110/hour

The Role:

As part of the Video Algorithms team, you will explore Gaussian Splatting (GS) for 3D/4D scene reconstruction, addressing challenges in model training and compression.

Responsibilities:

  • Explore GS model compression strategies using open datasets.
  • Contribute to dataset needs for representative scenes.
  • Characterize trade-offs among GS model size, training time, and rendered quality.
  • Identify strategies to reduce training/encoding time and improve GS compression efficiency.
  • Design and implement a proof-of-concept showcasing GS-based rendering.

Who Are You?

  • Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Statistics.
  • Strong software development skills and familiarity with software engineering best practices.
  • Experience in 3D/4D scene reconstruction and machine learning concepts.
  • Proficient in Python programming.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with real-time rendering and GPU programming.
  • Background in video compression and streaming systems.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
