This internship is based in Sunnyvale, CA, with a duration of 12 to 24 weeks.
Compensation:
$7,313/month to $12,134/month + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners, effectively communicating research plans, progress, and results.
- Contribute to product research or development, presenting findings applicable to future Meta products.
- Develop next generation AR displays or components, focusing on advanced simulations and experimental optics prototyping.
- Explore applications of wave optics, polarization optics, diffraction optics, and metasurfaces to AR displays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Optical Science, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in nanophotonics, diffractive optics, wave optics, or computational optics.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, MATLAB, Python).
- Intent to return to the degree program after the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with optical simulation methods and photonic modeling software.
- Proven track record of significant results through publications or patents.
