Optical Metrology Engineering Manager

Compensation:

$173,000/year to $245,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of optical metrology engineers responsible for waveguide display quality.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) of AR waveguide displays across a global supply chain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • Drive the development and qualification of custom metrology equipment for high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Oversee the validation and deployment of metrology solutions at factory locations.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.
  • 8+ years of experience in optical metrology, characterization, or testing of optical components or systems.
  • Proven experience with quality control methodologies in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with waveguide optics and display technologies for AR/VR applications.
  • Expertise in statistical data analysis and process control.
