Technical Program Manager, Data Center Network Infrastructure Construction

About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

To lead the Burst Labor Cluster Execution Program as a Level 7 Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will drive large-scale transformations within the Data Center Network Infrastructure Construction (DC-NICon) organization. This role focuses on accelerating cluster capacity delivery through a strategic burst labor model, which involves rapid mobilization of resources to meet the speed of light objectives.

As a Senior TPM, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of complex, cross-cutting programs that enable the rapid scaling of Google's Machine Learning (ML) and compute capacity. You will lead the development and implementation of the burst labor strategy, leveraging a flexible workforce that can scale up to 24/7 operations to match cross-functional velocity. Your role will involve solving challenging construction and deployment problems while establishing trust among a set of global stakeholders.

The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. Our customers include Googlers, Google Cloud customers, and billions of Google users worldwide.

We're the driving force behind Google's groundbreaking innovations, empowering the development of our cutting-edge AI models, delivering unparalleled computing power to global services, and providing the essential platforms that enable developers to build the future. From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more.

  • 5 years of experience in program management and managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

  • Set the direction for the burst labor program, outlining clear goals and objectives to achieve a 24/7 speed of light deployment target for physical infrastructure.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of this transformational program, ensuring that cluster cabling and fit-out activities meet dynamic delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with regional and site TPM's, develop relationships with external Low Voltage Contractors (LVCs) and internal partners (e.g., Global Server Operations (GSO), Data Center Security (DCS), Data Center Operations (DCOps), DCNet), leveraging direct contracting strategies to maximize fit-out velocity.
  • Manage the resource-loaded schedules for target ML acceleration sites, ensuring that labor, material flow, and need-by dates are perfectly synchronized to avoid idle time.
  • Use domain expertise to drive reporting process refinements that improve speed and quality, eliminating manual intervention in physical deployments.

Hey, I'm Stan

Software Developer & Creator of Top Jobs Today

I'm a software developer, and over time I realized I cared mostly about roles at big tech companies - not just whatever happened to show up on LinkedIn or generic job boards. But those sources weren't enough - some roles were delayed, or never posted at all.

So I built this website to solve that. It scrapes fresh job postings directly from official company sites, figures out what kind of roles they really are, and sends them as email alerts - simple, fast, and focused.

Hope it makes your search easier too. Wishing you the best of luck - and I'm really glad you're here!
