As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the goal for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. As a stellar writer, your portfolio of work demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience. You work with people in a variety of UX design-related jobs including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms. You regularly use empathy, logic and data to inform content choices and recommendations that include the right words and sometimes complementary data and images. In this role, you will be a part of the YouTube Ads and Apps, Video and Display (AViD) Viewer Experiences UX Team, which is part of the Model UX Team). As a part of this work, you will bridge traditional UX content design and Model Design, defining how AI engines behave by designing system instructions, setting evaluation guidelines, and shaping user-facing ad experiences across YouTube and the web.Google Ads is at the forefront of AI innovation, applying cutting-edge machine learning and Generative AI models like Gemini to power a multi-billion dollar global business.Our work directly impacts billions of users by protecting users from harm, improving ad quality, and optimizing campaigns for advertiser return-on-investment. Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, or conversation design.
• Experience with Model UX, Conversational Design, or AI Design or experience developing system prompts/instructions for machine learning or Large Language Mode (LLM)-driven applications.
• Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience shaping UX content strategies for user-facing products.
• Experience applying responsible AI principles, localization, accessibility, and content safety.
• Familiarity with AI prompt evaluation tooling and statistical model metrics.
• Background in AI design, drafting system instructions, and creating evaluation rubrics.
• Proven success driving cross-functional alignment in fast-paced, iterative environments.
• Ability to translate subjective creative concepts into objective, rule-based heuristics.

Responsibilities

• Lead content design and establish product-specific guidelines, collaborating across the development life-cycle to ensure high-quality user experiences.
• Design and refine system instructions, prompts, and guardrails for various AI models and conversational agents.
• Develop expert-level golden sets and evaluation rubrics, and lead prompt experiments to measurably improve model accuracy and precision.
• Protect user trust by establishing human-in-the-loop workflows and actively mitigating algorithmic bias, hallucinations, and harm.
• Conduct training sessions to scale expertise, share Model UX best practices, and build a design community.
