Software Engineering Manager, YouTube Knowledge

This role is based in Paris, France.

Responsibilities:

• Set and communicate team priorities aligned with organizational goals.
• Establish clear expectations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
• Develop the technical direction and roadmap for multiple teams.
• Design and vet system designs, writing product or system development code.
• Review code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with 2 years in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in a matrixed organization.
• Familiarity with Google infrastructure tools like Flume, Spanner, Dremel, TensorFlow.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Models.
