Compensation:
$197,000-$291,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Support a team of 10 engineers responsible for key UI surfaces within Google Messages.
- Advocate for team growth and align strategy, processes, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with product managers and technical leads to set the product roadmap and deliver features.
- Identify areas for improvement while balancing the need for new features.
- Drive engineering execution plans for new initiatives and long-running projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience (e.g., Java, Kotlin).
- 3 years of Android application development experience.
- 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Experience building mobile applications on Android.
- Experience managing teams of engineers.
