Compensation:

$197,000-$291,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build infrastructure and features in the Google Photos Android app.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature development and new capture experiences.
  • Develop and drive engineering execution plans for new initiatives and long-running projects.
  • Manage a team and advocate for their growth and success.
  • Synthesize and explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development (e.g., Java, Kotlin).
  • 3 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with video and special formats (e.g., HDR, Live Photos).
  • Experience with mobile application development, particularly on large-scale apps.
  • Expertise in Android CameraX and Media3 for video playback.
