Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the new Bengaluru site for the Google Global Networking (GGN) Engineering Productivity organization, delivering productivity tools and infrastructure for GGN organization.
  • Build/manage a high-performing team of Engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and creating an effective organizational structure fostering delegation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Achieve business goals for the team, ensuring alignment with the global GGN Engineering Productivity mission and GGN priorities.
  • Ensure sound technical direction for projects undertaken by Bengaluru team.
  • Collaborate closely with teams in other sites to ensure consistency and leverage of tooling and infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 4 years of experience building developer tools, test automation frameworks, or infrastructure to improve engineering productivity.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience establishing and growing new engineering teams.
  • Experience in the Networking domain.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with globally distributed teams.
