The Android XR Data Generation team's mission within the Syntec organization is to establish a comprehensive data ecosystem that integrates real data collection, synthetic data, GenAI data, and AI-driven annotation to fuel XR AI training. The team is unifying fractured XR data infrastructure into a cohesive end-to-end ecosystem across back-end storage, device ingest, frontend interfaces, and semantic search. The team works on technology to capture and reconstruct real data , and builds the infrastructure to generate synthetic data at scale to support critical XR platforms like AI Glasses. Joining this team offers the exciting opportunity to design, implement, and maintain massive data generation pipelines, integrate ML models into production, and directly impact the delivery of high-quality data for perception algorithms across AR and XR.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Experience designing, developing, and optimizing relational database schemas and data models.
• Experience in Relational Database Management Systems.
• Experience coding in C++ or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience working on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
• Experience coding in Go.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
