As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. As a part of the Draper team, you will own the core platform packaging YouTube’s content into brand-safe advertiser offerings, powering the billion-dollar YouTube Select and Sponsorships products. You will bridge advanced AI content packaging algorithms with ad-serving systems and buyflows, enabling advertisers to target and buy high-quality content (Lineups) across channels and videos.In this role, you will have the opportunity to fluently work across our Java/C++ backends, Angular/Dart UI, Spanner/F1-based databases, and Flume pipelines. You will design and implement end-to-end features, integrate our products with Gemini, collaborate with product management, and get feedback directly from our sellers. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience implementing Generative AI concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with sales and product managers to define clear requirements for the given problem.
  • Sketch out a full-stack high level solution across our Dart/Angular, Java/C++, Spanner stack.
  • Collaborate with and learn from experienced team mates.
  • Gain a clear understanding of your impact on the business.
