Senior Software Engineering Manager, Capital Markets Technology

This role is based in London, UK.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale a high-performing engineering organization responsible for the core platform architecture of the Google Cloud Universal Ledger.
• Drive the technical strategy for transitioning traditional financial infrastructure to cloud-native, distributed architectures.
• Advocate engineering excellence and developer velocity by building platform tooling and automating delivery pipelines.
• Partner with Product Management and external stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
• Oversee the implementation of critical security and governance frameworks required for banking-grade infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 5 years in a people management or team leadership role.
• 5 years in a technical leadership role.
• Experience in regulated industries or managing high-volume transactional systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• 15 years of software engineering experience with significant team management.
• Experience influencing executive stakeholders and defining technical strategy.
• Expertise in architecting and scaling public cloud platforms using containers and service mesh technologies.
• Expertise in security engineering within distributed systems.
• Proven track record of leading migration strategies to cloud-native architectures.
