Senior Software Engineer, Modeling Infrastructure

This role is based in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and model the planet-scale networks powering Google's services and those of our Cloud customers.
  • Work on the entire management plane stack that keeps Google's networks up and running 24/7.
  • Analyze and fix bugs, design and implement new features, and help to build the systems that will underpin Google's next-generation network.
  • Write and test product or system development code. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C++, or Go.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networking.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in developing accessible technologies.
