Senior Software Engineer, Android, YouTube Create

This role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of core video-creation features on YouTube Create Android app, such as advanced editing tools and AI-powered media generation.
• Drive the technical roadmap for Android infrastructure by implementing complex projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineers, setting technical standards through code and design reviews.
• Identify and resolve systemic technical debt or process bottlenecks.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience programming in C++ and Java or Kotlin.
• 3 years of experience with Android application development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
