About the job

Discovery sits at the front door of Gemini. We are responsible for helping people unlock Gemini capabilities across our highest-reach surfaces such as Home/Zero State and Chat. We define how hundreds of millions of users explore, discover, and adopt capabilities across Gemini. Rather than relying on users to arrive with a perfectly formulated prompt, Discovery meets users where they are.

Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with exceptional interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high-quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority.

We are pushing the boundaries across multiple domains. Our global teams offer diverse learning opportunities and varied career pathways for those driven to achieve exceptional results through collective effort.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience leading consumer product management for web or mobile products.
  • Experience launching recommendation systems, personalization engines, or content discovery surfaces.
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B testing programs to drive engagement.
  • Experience partnering with machine learning engineering, UX research, and design teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building conversational AI interfaces, in-chat guidance, or proactive assistant products.
  • Experience scaling horizontal platform models and frameworks adopted by internal partner teams.
  • Experience navigating 0-to-1 product development for dynamic zero-states, feeds, or activity streams.
  • Experience translating exploratory user interactions into structured, multi-turn task completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product goal and roadmap for flagship entry points and discovery destinations, shifting Gemini from reactive prompt entry toward a proactive, anticipatory user experience.
  • Design in-conversation suggestion and journey frameworks that guide users from initial intent to completed tasks, continually optimizing relevance, timing, and multi-turn follow-through.
  • Establish the shared frameworks, ranking systems, and UI patterns that empower feature teams across Gemini to embed native discovery experiences seamlessly across shared surfaces.
  • Set core north-star metrics for discovery engagement and user, partnering closely with ML engineering, design, research, and partner product teams to execute product roadmaps.

Hey, I'm Stan

Software Developer & Creator of Top Jobs Today

I'm a software developer, and over time I realized I cared mostly about roles at big tech companies - not just whatever happened to show up on LinkedIn or generic job boards. But those sources weren't enough - some roles were delayed, or never posted at all.

So I built this website to solve that. It scrapes fresh job postings directly from official company sites, figures out what kind of roles they really are, and sends them as email alerts - simple, fast, and focused.

Hope it makes your search easier too. Wishing you the best of luck - and I'm really glad you're here!
