Engineering Manager

This role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Define the technical roadmap and oversee the end-to-end execution of Cloud Spanner client libraries to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Advocate for ease of use by enhancing PostgreSQL compatibility, documentation, and open-source contributions (e.g., drivers, ORMs (Object-Relational Mappers)) to drive adoption.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of connectivity components while guiding architectural decisions and engineering best practices.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development and technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Node, Python) and databases such as GoogleSQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Ability to work effectively across boundaries in a distributed team environment.
