Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Cider Engineering team supporting their career growth and fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Define and drive the technical outlook and roadmap for the systems and services that make up the Cider.
  • Collaborate with engineering partners across Google to understand their needs and ensure our tools are meeting the evolving challenges of a massive and complex codebase.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Cider services.
  • Utilize data and user feedback to guide priorities, measure impact, and make informed decisions for the future of the product.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, C++, TypeScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in product development or product engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
