Engineering Manager, BigQuery Engine

This role is based in Kirkland, WA.

Compensation:

$207,000-$300,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Drive the design and execution of high-performance components within BigQuery’s execution engine.
• Improve the price-performance and scale of the engine.
• Partner with infrastructure and product teams to enhance the analytics experience.
• Foster a collaborative team culture and mentor engineers.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• 3 years in a technical leadership role with people management experience.
• Experience building large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in a related field.
• Experience in developing query processing engines for SQL databases.
• Experience in distributed computing.
