Staff Software Engineer - (Linux & GPU Environment) - Substrate Team

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain and enhance Linux orchestration at scale.
  • Support GPU clusters for AI training and inference workloads.
  • Build hardware configuration and hypervisor patterns for production infrastructure.
  • Work on kernel-level changes and performance tuning.
  • Set technical direction and write design documentation.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Linux infrastructure at production scale.
  • Knowledge of GPU or specialized compute systems.
  • Familiarity with hypervisor configuration and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Ability to tackle ambiguous technical problems.

Technical knowledge:

  • Production knowledge of Linux kernel and systems languages.
  • Experience with GPU infrastructure and virtualization.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals and computer science principles.
