Senior Software Engineer - Video Performance - (Bay area only)

This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and is focused on optimizing video performance within Canva's platform.

Compensation:

$210,000 to $270,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• Lead performance strategy across the video creation lifecycle.
• Optimize critical paths in C++ native engine and ML-powered effect pipelines.
• Design observability systems for performance metrics across platforms.
• Collaborate with teams to improve system architecture.
• Utilize hardware acceleration for enhanced performance.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with graphics APIs.
• Understanding of CPU/GPU architectures and multimedia fundamentals.
• Experience with performance profiling tools.

Tech stack:

C++, GLSL/HLSL, Metal, Vulkan, WebGPU.
