Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Agent Tools Interop (AU remote)

This role is remote-friendly within Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Build systems for agents to discover and execute capabilities across Canva.
• Design tool schemas for accurate LLM tool selection.
• Develop evaluation pipelines to measure tool calling behavior.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to integrate agentic capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on integration patterns.

What we're looking for:

Hands-on experience with LLM tool-use and function calling, Java proficiency, and familiarity with agent frameworks.
