What you'll do:
- Own high-quality, frame-accurate video and audio playback on Canva’s web platform
- Design and evolve the core architecture for scalable web playback
- Build performance-critical systems beyond typical frontend abstractions
- Drive resilient rendering and playback experiences across browsers and devices
- Lead the adoption of next-generation playback technologies
- Partner closely with product, editor, and platform teams
- Improve playback quality, observability, and reliability for millions of users
Requirements:
- Deep expertise in JavaScript at a systems level
- Experience building video, audio, graphics, or game-like systems in the browser
- Understanding of rendering pipelines, frame timing, and animation systems
- Comfortable with canvas, workers, WebGL, WebAssembly, or modern multimedia APIs
