Senior Frontend Engineer - Video Web Engine (Open to remote across ANZ)

What you’ll do:

• Own high-quality video and audio playback on Canva’s web platform.
• Design and evolve core architecture for scalable web playback.
• Build performance-critical systems beyond typical frontend abstractions.
• Drive resilient rendering and playback experiences across browsers and devices.
• Lead adoption of next-generation playback technologies.
• Improve playback quality, observability, and reliability for millions of users.

Requirements:

• Deep expertise in JavaScript at a systems level.
• Experience building video, audio, graphics, or game-like systems in the browser.
• Understanding of rendering pipelines and animation systems.
• Familiarity with canvas, WebGL, WebAssembly, or modern multimedia APIs.
